Can anyone advise what plant this is

I have been lookingaround mums garden trying to start sorting it for her and I have found this plant growing in several different areas....total of 6 have grown up and not sure whether to dig up a few of them but tried to ask mum but with her dementia she can't tell me this one.....anyone have an idea...I seem to have them all over garden image

    They look like Beech trees to me, could be wrong though.

    Sorry lisey - we're being very unhelpful - unlike everyone else who's ID ing the plant. image

    I agree that it looks like Hazel though. I initially thought Beech, but the shape isn't quite right  image
