Hospital managers, are a very easy, and popular target.
I had the pleasure of working with many excellent managers over my career, and I am pleased to say, departments still have Matrons, many of whom, have put me firmly in my place over the years.
Many years ago, as quite a junior doctor, I was expected to turn up on the ward at 7 am., on the weekend. Matron gave me a list of chores to be done. If I finished all the chores, in the right order, and, to her satisfaction, she would cook me breakfast.
In those days, the ladies who cleaned the doctors accommodation, used to knock on my door, at about 6 am, ask whether you wanted a cuppa, and depending on what they could hear through the door, might say, ah, two cups this morning doctor!
How can you lie there and think of England When you don't even know who's in the team
