Floss enjoying a rest on this morning's walk. The wildflower meadows are gorgeous at the moment.

I've tried to train the dog to chase away the pigeons that are plaguing the bird feeders at the moment. He doesn't seem to like confrontation though so he's taken to just standing on top of the ground feeder and staring at them instead. It's led to some awkward standoffs but I think the pigeons have worked out that he's a pansy. I'm pretty sure he'd run away if they ganged up on him  :D (excuse the planks, I'm in the middle of infilling that bit of fence.)

If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.

My lurcher gave up on birds long ago.. I think most dogs are too smart for thinking they'll ever catch one, so don't find them worth the effort.  Some enjoy the dash and flight of the birds.. but you obviously have a sensible companion WE.
