Our rescue Dudley stays at my folks place a couple of days a week. They live on what is now a non-working farm. They have a lot of deer in the area. He's so far come back with two that I managed to catch crawling over him before they had a chance to latch on but this week we found one sucking away. First time I'd used the tick o'tool device or whatever it is called and very impressed.
Yes my pastimes are fishing and golf. I've had ticks from both and very conscious of the potential for Lymes disease. When I think back to when I grew up on the farm and the 'old school' ways we used to remove ticks from the animals it's a wonder we never made any of them ill.
Things like burning them off or smearing with Vaseline. All these techniques promote the tick to regurgitate back into the animal / person they are latched on to and this can make them quite ill.
This is my baby girl Tess, She has just turned 4 we practically do everything together, gardening, out hacking with the horses, Agility training and shows, trick training, and even helps me with the housework
Tess loves water, whether is be a puddle or the sea can't keep her out of it! She is great with everything, won't chaseanything, just wants all humans and animals to be her friend. She's very laid back, but once we are at agility its a whole different dog i have - totally crazyness!

A friend got Lyme's disease some years ago, following a tic bite and was seriously ill.
Walkers need to be vigilant.

I use a spot on treatment for our 2, that supposed to kill ticks as well as flees.
Looks like a Pied blue male budgie.
My OH took Dudley to the vets this week and I think this is what has been given to him too Logan. Be good if it works.

That's great, it's more expensive to buy from vet. We get it online it's cheaper, you don't have to go to vet. Look around.A website called vio vet
