Dudley doing his best to be a search dog! Last Sunday we took him to 'Hundred Acre Woods' not far from us and while we were there an elderly couple lost their dog. A couple of professional dog walkers with 8 dogs(!) had spooked their 18 month old small crossbreed which shot off - unfortunately with extendable lead in tow. The owners were, not surprisingly distraught. We joined the search in the heavily wooded area and I was completely inadequately dressed in shorts and was getting cut to bits in the dense undergrowth. We spent an hour or so but with no luck and had to leave. The big concern was that the lead would have almost certainly been snagged. As I had a few days off last week I went up several times and looked and looked but to no avail. The couple had put up loads of posters and gone online to publicise it as best they could.
Anyway to cut to the chase they managed to organise a coordinated search and little Pearl was found on Thursday. Her lead had indeed got caught up but despite being dehydrated and very hungry it seems she was no worse for wear. A happy ending for once.
I put a tiny bell on Wren's collar because she's black and decided that coming back when she was called wasn't cool anymore!! When she went out in the dark I couldn't find her...not that she wandered off. I also have her out with me in the garden and when the bell stops I always have a wee check to see where she is. She would happily sniff her way into the next county! Maybe poor Pearl needs a bell.

Gates? Gates??? Where did that come from? You knew what I meant anyway.
Scroggin that's great to hear.
Great to hear that Floss is back doing her thing. Those seeds - eek!!
Scroggin that's great news. Yes we have trouble with seeds in their coats.
