Help with mail order plants

  • I have used ebay this year for the first time. I have been really impressed with quality of the plants and the cost is good too. You get a full garden ready plant, packed in a wee nest of straw, for the same price as a plug from some of the main retailers.

I used Parkers when I first started gardening a couple years ago. I received £80.00 worth of dead plants. I was mortified. They never refunded a penny either. I have used Dobies of Devon occasionally and they were good except if they no longer have the plant you have on order ( and taken the money for) you only find out or get a refund when you email asking where it is. ) .

thing I like about ebay is when you order it it tells you when it will be delivered unlike large retailers , where you buy your plant in March and it says delivery anytime up to the end of June. How can you plan so that the plant is not left dying in a courier warehouse somewhere until you can arrange redeliverly.

Well the replacement plants have arrived, and they are OK actually, massive improvement. Still wouldnt recommend them, and they were not good value, but....i have what i ordererd so all ok.

You guys using ebay shops should try going directly to the suppliers, they often have their own websites. If you have any sort of dispute with ebay, you will get nowhere, go direct.
