Help with mail order plants
This is the same problem as 'dry and shrivelled mail order plants' by Louise B.
£30 odd quid spent at gardens4you
ill post the pics.
I got mail order live plants before from a different company and they were excellent. Bit pricey, but excellent. These are in a terrible state. Definitely good companies and bad out there.

What were they supposed to be?
I would be demanding my money back. Not fit for purpose.
If they don't pay up and you paid by credit card, complain to the credit card company as well. They are liable for faulty goods as well.
First pic is phlox, second is Campanula blue clips. Just seen both of these in the garden centre this morning looking lovely boo hoo. I thought these would be small plants, didnt think they would be half dead.
Its not like they are freshely packaged, and this is transport damage. They are grown into each other, they have been is this package a long time. Soil covered in weeds too.
phone the company first followed by email .When my dad had some mail order plants that were not as expected he phoned up the company straight away and they refunded him. Other times he had got what he ordered and they were fine.
I tend to wait until the local stores have plants and can see what state they are in and buy them. Sometimes these are later than you would get if you mail ordered but the condition is usually very good. Also casualty corner where you can get a tray of plants at reduced cost as some of the plants may need extra TLC but I have always had good results from these

I have bought plugs plants for years to save money, but Morrisons had 2 packs of bedding for £3, and Aldi even cheaper, got 3 ready planted wicker hanging baskets in there Saturday, £3.99, so I am not going to bother with the plugs anymore, you have the time factor, buying compost and I have 3 greenhouses full, plus my own seeds, etc. I know you guys dont like Thompson and Morgan, but I wanted a particular purple petunia, they didnt look god, (one was dead) they replaced the whole lot no quibble.
The didnt look good or God!!!
A few years ago I ordered some plants via The Telegraph.
What arrived was rubbish. I wrote to The Telegraph but got no response.
I contacted my credit card company and they refunded my money without quibble.
So worth considering if you don't get the correct response from your supplier

Aw no, that's rubbish
I have to say that I prefer the mooching and picking of plants myself if at all possible (plus I hate waiting!) but I appreciate that when you're looking for something a bit unusual, it's not always possible. I've actually stopped going to garden centres now I've found a good variety of local nurseries and plant markets which have a stunning collection of healthy stock, and different to the generic stuff you tend to find in the big GCs, too.
I have made a couple of online orders at Dorset Perennials though (another one coming tomorrow!) and their stock is always super healthy and so far has established really well.
