Don't be worried, aym, be inspired! Or just do what I do and crash around blindly in a naive yet enthusiastic manner
I geniunely have no idea what any of the clematis are (or indeed, much of what's in my garden) - I'm going to need some serious help from all you guys!
aym - I'm really not! I try, but I get over excited and do things wrong
Do watch out if you're planning on using an angle grinder - my H loves his power tools, but he is SO clumsy. He has so many near misses, and the scars to prove it, that I'm surprised he's still with us to be honest! Last time he used the angle grinder somehow he managed to make the handle fall off and it jumped around (cutting his arm in the process) until it only stopped as it cut through its own power cord...
Maybe I shouldn't let him build a pergola and playhouse. These will DEFINITELY require kill-you power tools.
I'm lucky that the previous owner got the garden well established and did most of the hard landscaping work, it was one of the reasons we bought the house - although there are lots of things we've done to improve it since then. I feel your pain about a garden that is really not level - we had a house like that once, it meant it was almost impossible to mow the lawn. I'm sure your garden is beautiful though! I can't have a veg patch as our house sits at the back of plot so everything is on show and effectively 'front garden'.
Thanks for the IDs - the alba smells lovely, but you have to get close up to it. I thought the previous owner told me a jasmine was growing up that tree! I'd love to know what the yellow one growing up across the front of the house and the storm porch is - lovely tiny yellow rosettes, I've googled but no joy as yet.

What great pics like the yellow poppy
Great pictures everyone. I have a rather small garden, but here is my offering.
1. Piggy-faced.
2. Breaking free.
3. Is it still normal to have hellebore buds?
4. Cloudy day.
5. Elegance.
6. Wish I had a better camera.
Today.... It's about climbing things some in full swing and some just getting going!
Great climbers, Geum! Wish I had so much space. I see that the site hasn't lost the propensity for rotating pictures.

Great catch of the robin! Love it
What is the pitter patter? Looks very pretty! Google is not my friend on this one...
'Oh, that's all right. He can call me flower if he wants to.' https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=54sZ8TFFAmY
Great pictures, Aym. I love the rosemary and the robin is great too. I can't take any credit, flowers are so photogenic.

Wah! And I thought pitter-patter was a flower. Just shows how truly little I know
