    Why so slow!!?

Its taken 2 weeks for the seedlings to produce their first true leaf

On the plus side, last years additions of "shaggy" in the border have pushed up multiple shoots, have to cloche them at night though- lost loads already due to snails....

my mum has astrantia so i took some seed heads from her garden last year and stored them in the fridge over the winter, i remembered i'd done this a couple of months ago and scattered them in the garden, should they be coming up by now? , tbh i do't know what the seedlings look like image

If you stored them without contact with soil/ moisture , I guess they'll be dessicated ?

The fridge thing is about breaking dormancy. They need to be damp, otherwise they're just stored. My opinion is that the fridge is a waste of time when they can just be outside. Sow them fresh, in compost and leave them outside, they'll get round to it. If fresh it should be about now.image

mmm not sure if they were dessicated or not, i just tipped them out of the envelope and scattered them in all four beds. I had looked it up and found lots of advice saying to put them in the fridge to 'stratify' them, i'll be gutted if they don't come up as they are so pretty, anyone got any pics of the seedlings please
