Did those seeds fall into an envelope Darren? image It sounds like you're doing things right with the astrantia seed so maybe just bad luck?

They fell into a brown bag that came with a sausage baguette from 'honest sausage' near the orchard.
  • Lots of astrantia seedlings in the garden here, especially around Ruby Wedding and Gill Richardson, never seen any around Buckland or Roma, my favourite is maxima.

It tells you what you need to do to germinate them doesn't it? Let them drop and leave them aloneimage

Not heard of jumble hole before.

    Looks fresh and bright.

Hopefully my shaggys get going soon, multiple shoots emerging now

I adore all astrantia and think I have national collection now image I am too impatient to sow seed but they do seed naturally really well and divide beautifully and grow into good sized plants in one season I find.  I have really heavy wet clay soil and they love it image
