That's terrible, of course it's theft! Sounds like you dealt with it calmly - not sure I could trust myself to do the same if I caught people red handed stealing my property!
Great job Bristol! For a 'non-gardener' that is hugely impressive and you should be proud of your efforts, it looks great! You can be my neighbour any time!
Going to the other thread, I don't know why people insist on stealing plants. Years ago, I bought a brand-new variety of tulip for my garden from Keukenhof (we were living in Holland at the time). Went out early one Saturday evening and they looked so beautiful (a dark aubergine colour) along with the late jonquils and creamy tulips in the weak, late sunshine. On Sunday morning, every single one, along with a few of the other flowers in the border, was gone, cut off at 'vase length'...the Sunday was Mothering Sunday. I was so mad!!
Thanks Brickman - neither actually, it's the same grass! Just lots of water and Scott's Lawn Builder in the couple of months after we moved in. Just gave it some fertiliser yesterday also to try and green it up a touch.
wow, it's a credit to you, already ordered some Scott's lawn builder lol.
For someone who didn't know anything about gardening, you appear to have the magic touch, a lovely variation of plants without cramming anything in (my worst crime) please keep us updated with pics throughout the summer, i'd love to see how it all settles in.
