Shrub border done :-)
Thought I'd share the fruits of my labours today - 9 hours of solid work and a ridiculous amount of money later, the shrub border at the front of the house is done! Here is the before and after shots - before is when we moved in 11 months ago

And also did a bit more planting and potting in the back

It's only a little back garden but slowly we're turning it into our own little 'happy place'
will be so nice this summer to have a place to sit and relax and enjoy!

Wow Bristol - you have done an amazing job - a garden to be proud of and to enjoy spending time in. A job well done - don't count the cost just enjoy your time relaxing in it.
It's our first house and 11 months ago I knew zero about gardening - what I know now is that it's harder physical work than I could ever possibly imagine! I am a reasonably fit guy but this is literally the hardest work I've done in my life!!
But worth the effort when you see the result Bristol - I would imagine what you have done in the garden will add value to the house if you sold it. Yes gardening is hard work but far better for you than going to a gym - you have something worthwhile to show for your efforts & extended your knowledge too.
very nice and worth the effort, wonder how it will look in a couple of years!
Looks great BRISTOL what a transformation
