    When I was at college aged 16 we had to learn 10 houseplants a week and were tested on Fri.

    One time after looking over our answers the teacher called out "tell us all what you have for number 6 Kathryn" to which I confidently replied "necrophillia exaltata". 

    All the class (which was mainly mature students, only 4 school leavers) burst out laughing.

    One plant I will never again forget is nephrolepis exaltata. image

    It was an ID/spelling test hollie.

    Just saying we all make spelling mistakes, some more embarrassing than others.

    The site isn't iPad friendly, I find the only way to get the photo the right way up is to use the Photo Stream.
