Last year was the first year in a larger garden for me so I bought lots of plants I'd not grown before and I thought I'd been so careful with reading the labels I think a good googling will be in order next time I go shopping. Or I'll ask Verdun who is way more knowledgeable than me - thanks for the input too Verdun, really helpful
Verdun. Thanks for all that info. I only got into grasses 2years ago and I love them. I have 5 already and all in pots as I don't have a massive garden .I have a tiarella planted in the garden so I will check out Impertata Red Baron. going to check out the rest on google . It was my husband that put me off grasses as he wasn't keen but now he is as hooked as I am. Thanks again for your help I really appreciate it.
Verdun. Had a quick look on google just now at all the grasses you mentioned. They are ALL beautiful, wouldn't know what to pick but I have a feeling I will be buying a few. Thanks on the advice on the tiarella I have only had it since last summer. Wish I had all the knowledge you have. But I am trying to learn. Thanks again.
Imperata Red Baron is what I called Japanese Blood Grass in my first post and that seems to have survived Linda so I reckon that's a goer. It really is gorgeous so I'll be getting a few more clumps of that I think. Uncinia unciniata rubra looks amazing too so I'll be trying that as well I think, thanks Verdun.
Emma .Definitely going to get Red Baron, it looks lovely. Was out this morning tiding up the grasses I do have. Love the way the wind blows them about, and the lovely sounds they make.
Resurrected this thead as yesterday i bought pennisetum fireworks at b&q and the label says HARDY. I think i know they weren't, but became excited by the colours. I also asked staff, who read the label (!) and said yes they are hardy.
im in scotland, so i have no chance of overwintering them outside. Im annoyed with myself really!!

Verdun .Is there a hardy grass similar to the Firework that I could grow?
