I cant see that having a work permit to do a job is a problem, its the amount of people coming here just to claim benefits from a system that they have never paid a penny in to that is the problem. The glossy leaflet says this will not happen, but I understand that it is only for a limited period before the flood gates open again.
Maybe for those people we have here that don't want to work, we have an allocation of a job, or a work for benefits system as in the states.
..... Dove, ..nevertheless, the majority vote was 61% and ignored. Maybe the rest of the population couldn`t be bothered because they thought it to be a futile exercise
There is a turnout figure - I think it's 30% (with a tolerance each way of 3%) below which the vote is invalid - I understand that is why it is being ignored.

When Cameron went to the eec to "renegotiate" certain conditions, I was prepared to vote in if he came back with a result. Basically the others just laughed in his face. The prime minister of Poland has already said that the UK pay their welfare bill. It is all just too one sided. I see the net amount of money that goes the other way, would go a long way to pay for decent roads here, more money for the NHS, schools etc.
800, 000 immigrants , last year, mean at an average of 5 to a house, another
160, 000 houses needed.... and again next year, and the year after. Uncontrolled immigration means more pressure on schools, the health service, and housing.
from The Telegraph...
The number of immigrants who came to work in Britain last year reached a record high of more than 800,000 as the number of Romanians coming here tripled in just 12 months.
Previously-unpublished data obtained by The Telegraph shows the massive overall increase was powered by huge rises in arrivals from the rest of the European Union.
More than 152,000 Romanians registered for National Insurance (NI) numbers in 2014/15 - a key indicator of immigration levels - compared with just 47,000 in 2013.
The total for all nationalities was up by more than a third year-on-year to 824,000, including 629,000 from the EU, 100,000 from Asia and 79,000 from the rest of the world.
The country is a wonderful place to live, food, proper food, is really cheap.
Look at the number of cars on the roads, new houses being built, shops open 24 hours, look at the Sky dishes, Ipods ( whatever they are ), hairdressing salons, nail parlours, tattoo shops, eyebrow chambers, ear piercing sheds, look how many eating out places there are, people are well off !!
Please don't give me the rubbish about people having to work 90 hours for a pittance, sorry, but I don't see it.
I see the situation we are in as fantastic, and I certainly will not vote for change.
I have far better vision than many posters on here thanks, been self-employed all my life, still working at 75, sorry not wrapped in cocoon, never eaten fast food, nor ever had a sky dish, mobile phone, or passport.
I believe people should graft for a living and pay into a system to keep the country including the wonderful NHS afloat.
If Little England is such a hole, why is it that the rest of the world want to come here?
Pity you can't come up with some constructive arguments instead of trying to belittle sensible people with your scaremongering stories of rape and mass murders, pathetic arguments.
As Dove has said, and I have said earlier, leaving the EU, will have next to no effect on the arrival of refugees and asylum seekers.
If anything it will be worse, as at present part of our border control process takes place in Calais. The French have said, it is unlikely to allow this to continue, if we leave the EU.
If, as I am being told, these peoples main purpose is to abuse our women, then I would be very worried.
However they are really here to escape brutal wars, and to fill jobs that we cannot / will not fill from within our own country.
we are richer now than we have ever been, mainly as a result of our trade with the EU. There is also no reason why we cannot build up markets elsewhere, we are already doing it. The EU does not preclude trade with the rest of the world. Think how many countries you have seen a BMW in.
I also think it interesting that the USA has publicly stated, that it wants us to remain. It wants to trade with a united Europe, not an isolated Britain.

European new arrivals are being driven by job-hunters coming here to work, attracted by the stronger economic recovery here and high unemployment in their home countries.

Totally agree Richard....
We are the 5th most successful economy in the world ... this has happened while we're in the EU

If leaving the EU will prevent asylum seekers and refugees arriving here - why are there so many in Norway?
