  • Verdun, my point of view isn't even taking into account what the politicians are doing right now in terms of the EU vote. I'm not listening to any of them. Agendas are in place on all sides.

Yes, all sides have agendas but what are the motives for the agendas? Business people/politicians who don't want to lose the benefit they have personally gained by being in the EU?

My concern that is that with increasing numbers we will not be able to sustain the benefits available to citizens - unemployment benefit, housing benefit, disability benefit, health care, quality education, policing. The pension I have paid into since I was 17 is now called a benefit- does that mean it can be changed at the whim of the government?

I agree, Tetley.  To bring us back to the first post,  whatever money the government spent on a mailout to tell us how to vote instead of giving facts for both sides (which makes me immediately suspicious) would have been better spent elsewhere.

As a newbie to this site, I have just sat and read the entire debate on this thread, and have found it interesting, amusing, informative and unbelievable, not necessarily in that order image.   Interesting because some of the posts at the beginning have proven to be so far removed from reality in the light of recent developments. Amusing to watch the inter-actions between posters who are on opposite sides of the debate, each convinced that they are right. Informative, especially learning that the EU lent millions to China (who are not in the EU) regarding their steel industry and who now want to buy Tata, having decimated our own steel industry.  Unbelievable that some posters really believe what they are posting to the point I wonder if they are living in England at all.

Thanks you everyone, I thoroughly enjoyed this thread and once I am not such a newbie, I may well join in myself.
