I can't join the debate, I couldn't win an argument in an empty room, but I have just got a leaflet, it will compost, if it disolves in water it'll go on there.
Its all a load of read between the lines, could, maybe, might, and so on.
As for people not being able to work in Germany or France, why ever not, they did before we entered and if someone can do the job, there's no reason why they can't go abroad and do it. My ex husband worked in Germany, and my friend came from Germany to do nursing.
looking around here, almost all the farmers want to come out, and they are the ones that get money given, apart from Ambrosia rice and Ginsters pasties, that's all we have and if they want to come out, I would be driven by that.
still, my son in law mines the clay that makes the glossy paper, so hopefully his company have done well out of the leaflet.

Why won't eastern Euopeans be able to apply for jobs here, they always did, or is that something the EU will put a stop too?
Did anyone see that programme the other week, about those ships, one mile long almost. No crew, just 12 workers, all managed by computers, he said that you can send goods from Shanghai to London cheaper than from your local Spar shop to your house, and that is cheaper and cleaner than smelly fumey Lorries driving across Europe, taking the tunnel then driving through UK.

When I was in St Lucia, most of the other holidaymakers were either canadian or american. One canadian had a daughter at a university in Holland. Her daughter and other female students have been sexually assaulted by a group of male asylum seekers/refugees who are billeted next to the university accomodation. They have reported this to police, who will only record it as an assault by a male, with total disregard for ethnic origin. The female students are so upset by this refusal to deal with the issue, that they are thinking of leaving part way through the course and returning home.
Punkdoc, please remember the Rotherham and Derby grooming and rape cases, that the powers that be turned a blind eye to , because it was not p.c. to state they were asian men.
We may not be part of Schengen, but basically anybody with an eec passport can walk straight in, proceed to the nearest benefit office and start claiming. If we had a points system for jobs, and allowed in workers that we need, then I would believe we had control of our borders.
Angela Merkel invites in the hordes, grants them asylum status and an eec passport , and they are on the next ryanair flight over. I saw this in Aarhus airport last year. Denmark halved benefits for non nationals the week we were there. Guess how many were queueing up with their brand new passports , all their worldly goods, and walked straight through security, and straight in to Luton.? Not my idea of border control.
We would have to have travel insurance for medical claims in the EEC. Does anybody rely on reciprocal agreement for this.? I would certainly never travel without medical insurance for any unforeseen eventualities.
...... Why won't eastern Euopeans be able to apply for jobs here, they always did, or is that something the EU will put a stop too? ....
Lyn ((hugs)) sorry about your father.
Eastern Europeans weren't freely able to work here before their countries joined the EU. For a start, their countries were part of the USSR and they could only leave with permission from the Soviet government. After the USSR disintegrated many of the individual countries opted to realign with western Europe, and several have joined the EU, after meeting the conditions which were laid down. This was encouraged by the west as it gave NATO the opportunity to station troops and missiles in Eastern Europe, thus getting right up Russia's nose. This is why Putin has moved to stake a claim to the strategically important Crimea which used to be part of Russia before it was 'given' to the Ukraine in 1953 by Krushchev who came from the Ukraine.
Outside of the EU arrangements, to work in most other countries you have to have a Work Permit. Brits can't go and work in the USA or Australia or most other countries without one. Americans, Australians, Kiwis, Chinese, Indians etc have to have work permits to come and work here. You usually have to prove that there isn't a Brit available to do that particular job.
If we leave the EU it will be the same for Brits who want to work on mainland Europe - they will have to get a work permit.

plenty of Brits available to do care work or fruit/veg picking, they just don't want to.
not many years ago people would fight to get a job fruit picking, even my daughter, aged 10 at the time, went asparagus picking, and her friends loved potato harvest time, boost their pocket money no end.

And then there was Queen Elizabeth 1st nursey called Bernard
I don't think we would starve with out belonging to the EU.
