Morning all. Welcome to Blighty Lizzie - love the sound of your new front garden .....what have you planted? And have a good trip too DD - seems that all our French Forkers are returning to the motherland at the same time
I should be on porridge but I thought what the h*** be adventurous but will have to be good the rest of the day.
Had a good day in the jungle yesterday had a meeting with a few people regarding help clearing, one guy was particularly helpful, knowledgeable and seemed to be on the ball, so have ask him to come and help.
He also put in in touch with a local company who build bespoke garden buildings so talked to them re the potting / tool shed green house etc so its all moving on a pace.
One question for all any ideas or recommendations of a garden design package for PC? free if possible
Re the garden design package - it's a question that crops up on here from time to time - I'm not sure that we've found anything that has improved on paper and pencil - but I may well be wrong ... I'm sure the others will let you know if they've found something
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
chicky, I haven't planted yet, plants are all sitting on the back patio. Garden is tiny, patio with stone paving overlooking fields and woods. The front is shingle with one sunny border. I won't be here all the time so plants have to be easy. Bought low growing things for the front, such as Iberis, dianthus, aubretia. It's raised with wood sleepers. I bought perennials for the rest, salvia nemorosa, blue sea holly, helenium, erysimum, lavender. Which reminds me, herbs too, such as thyme, hyssop, golden origano etc.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
