I've heard the oddest of calls from some unknown bird, this was at least a month back, and that also sounded like some kind of mobile phone ringtone mimic. But where would the birds hear the sound to mimic in a wild-ish area?
Rain came today, silent!
B3 - I thought a murmuration was starlings, and then only when they are doing their incredulous aerobatics at dusk?
