just an update on the onions thankfully weather has changed so I have got all of my sets planted with only onions which I grew from seed still to plant.
I mentioned previously I start off my sets in module trays and they get a great start and grow quickly see root ball in picture on onion set.
Once planted there is no problem with birds lifting and frost pushing out ground.
hope everyone's onions are doing well and are ready to lift and store
my onions this year are from sets and seed planted and I am happy with my anticipated return however I have lost some red onions this year because they have gone to seed so may plant more red ones from seed next year. Picked up some seed on Sunday so will give them a go they are Rossa Di Toscana so if any members out there have had good results please let me know.
picture is of one bed planted at lottie and will post other pictures with update later in the week
