Thank you nut, I do have seeds for some of these, so should't have to spend to much money with them, My brain isn't working, I know digitalis can go in shade but I just couldn't think of any, thank you again for your help.image

Nut's right - pop some perennials in to give you seasonal variations amongst the more structural shrubs. Astilbes and Dicentras are very good for shade - white ones in particular are excellent. image

Thanks Fairygirl, I got a Astilbe in Lidl's today, it was cheap so thought, why not I might aswell give it a try, I do have a white Dicentras, I always thought it was for sun and that is where I have mine and it pretty good, maybe I should move it if it does well in shade.

Think I should be doing my research before buying, image

Some plants will cope in sun and some shade Lorna. You can use those to link your two areas. Potentilla is another shrub which is happy anywhere - I use the white ones in shady borders.

If you have a Dicentra already, you'll be able to divide it and get some plants for free to place in other areas  image

I have Potentilla Monarch's Velvet, I will have to see if I can find a white one. I love plants for free Fairygirl, I will divide Dicentra and put some in the shaded area. Thank you so much for all your idea's and help.image

Keep a record of your changes with photos too - it's a good way of reviewing areas that you alter or add to.

We have a Garden Pic thread on the forum too, so you can put pix on there for everyone to see  image
