Thanks for the kind thoughts. . . they help. Hoping to get 9 Heucheras into large pots tomorrow when the weather should be better. They were delivered in December so it's time to get them sorted and colour themed.
How do I access David's camera thread as I would love to see pix, Fairygirl?
Glad you got out today Fairy - lovely pictures again. Making me feel homesick for my favourite part of the world.
Next time you get stuck behind a caravan please give them a little wave when you eventually get to overtake - just in case it's us .
We're the 'van that always tries to pull over or let people past as soon as it's safe to do so - especially if somebody has been stuck behind us for more than 5 or 10 minutes. Amazed though by how many people refuse to overtake - even when there's a really clear, wide, straight bit of road with no junctions, nothing coming, excellent visibility, slowed down to 20 miles an hour etc etc. They just make it difficult for everybody.
We've been shovelling and shifting tons of compost and top soil again - fortunately rain stopped play before my back did. G&T, hot pot, bread & butter pud and The Night Manager tonight
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down
Topbird, I hope it's you when I'm next stuck behind a caravan. It hasn't been so far. We get lots of caravans and camping cars in Dordogne in the summer. I don't remember any ever slowing down or moving over to let me pass Can be really frustrating.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
It's only difficult on certain bits of the A82. I actually find the worst drivers are the ones in cars who insist on driving at 40 when they can safely drive at 60, which is the speed limit for most of that road. Then when you get a straight bit to overtake, there's always someone coming the other way! Of course, we also get a lot of the opposite kind who overtake at inappropriate points and then cut in....
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Flumpy, has Springwatch proper started? I watched the Easter one the other day, but I don't know if the usual series, complete with nesting birds, has started yet. Might be a bit early, maybe?
I managed to sleep through the Boat Race
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
We know it's frustrating BL and Hosta - we're 'normal' drivers 99% of the time and get as irritated as anybody else by thoughtless drivers of horse boxes, motorhomes, caravans, other trailers etc etc. That's why we try really hard to do 'the right thing'.
A little courtesy and consideration goes a long way to making the world a happier place (and giving us safer roads)

I haven't seen that film for years, Fairygirl, but I remember feeling like that too.
Back from lunch with friends, there were 8 of us and a lot of laughter.
Just read back 3 pages since my post this morning.
DD, I'm sure it will look great.

Is anyone watching spring watch?

they've already started arriving in Devon and, like you Llizzie, I've never known a single one pull over to let anyone pass.
Can we just say " they're not very popular in these parts" ?
Lovely photos, Fairy!
