I keep breaking my nails, but as I wear gloves for weeding they don't have black lines like a certain female gardening presenter image

This afternoon's weather was disappointing, but did a bit which I put on the gardening thread. It wasn't the weather that stopped me and OH in our task, it was a blackbird and her nest.

Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

Dove, Secondborn got the forms online and filled them in herself, however, she did have to go to the solicitor to get them witnessed.  It cost £13.00 to do it this way plus £40 something which she has to send to the Deed Poll people.  If the solicitor had done everything it would have cost about £140.00.

I changed my surname back to my maiden name when I got divorced. The solicitor handling the divorce said I could call myself anything I liked so long as it wasn't for fraudulent purposes. I started with my passport, and then most things such as bank and utilities followed. All I did was send a letter, along with a copy of the decree absolute and a copy of my birth certificate.  When I got married again, I stuck with my maiden name, far too much faff to change everything again.

Beautiful sunny day here but Book Club meeting and lunch so garden will have to wait. We have got workmen laying underground cables here too so not exactly a quiet place at the moment. Trying not to look at the mess they are making, it is only on the path and a bit of a walkway bit so hopefully not too bad once they clear up and go - hopefully. image

    Morning all.

We have had a bit of excitment this afternoon. Hubby was walking past the back door and saw a brown snake sliding onto our back verandah.  I was wondering why there hadn't been any skinks laying around in the sun this afternoon.image

anyway, Hubby grabbed the rifle and ended that particular threat. Hope we weren't too late for the baby skinks. Which, by the way there was a third baby yesterday. It is smaller than the other two.

I hate snakes, even the non poisonous sort that just strangle their prey.

Are you going to make a pencil case with the skin?
