Monty's dream gardens

watched Monty's new programme last night (recorded)

I thoroughly enjoyed it. image   A nice piece of escapism and encouragement.   More relevant make over programme where the owners are inspired to do it themselves image

I enjoyed it too Verd. I'd forgotten about it and missed the start, but I thought the girl with the allotment did a great job with a difficult plot. It's more in touch with reality as they often have a small, more realistic, budget and it shows how creative you can be with limited funds or time.  So much more satisfying when they do their own work too.

Good luck to them all. image

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

So much better than the 3 day, multi million pound makeover, by a team od "experts".

How can you lie there and think of England

Really good to watch.  Totally agree I can't stand it when they do it all for the owners then stand back and admire the monstrosity they've created (chrome/lights/unsuitable plants that the owners won't look after/violent paint colours etc etc).  But Monty's show had the owners doing it and then only what they could afford to do and physically do - excellent.  Made me laugh when Monty took the allotment lady to the garden centre and she tried to buy one small herb (did you seen the size of the allotment!!)image

I watched it today, loved it.

Hi from Kingswinford in the West Midlands
  • I liked it was good the first series last year, the allotment plot was a big mission with all the trees and size of the plot,  expect all the other allotment holders enjoyed Monty being there

Liked the garden nice they got to do the planting themselves choosing where to put the plants, liked the cut flower bit at Sarah Raven's, watching them get that delivery of the wood wall parts - that delivery was going every where

Chicky that is great more to watch

like the way Monty gets his hand dirty and helps out

I have just watched it, very good, I love Monty anyway, even if he does do some strange things on GW.

Gardening on the wild, windy west side of Dartmoor.

  • I've recorded it, not watched it yet. There's a funny review of it in yesterday's Guardian image
