  • We'll have savoury ones for our main course (either  emmental cheese and slices of smoked ham or duck and plum sauce, depending on whether there's any duck in the supermarket this morning).

Then for pud we'll have sweet ones, with either a fruit compote (probably raspberries, red currants, blackberries etc) , sugar and lemon, or maple syrup.

    I shall consult OH image

We are having chicken casserole, we haven't observed lent for a few years now.

  • Like Dove we'll be having savoury pancakes followed by sweet ones. Not sure what will go in them though as OH will be cooking. However, we're going on holiday tomorrow and he will be using up all the leftovers so I can make some guesses! We have cheese, peppers, mushrooms, and blueberries and cream among other things.

Anyone got a full proof recipe - Husband refuses to eat mine, and even the dog says 'no'! - My problem is sticking to the pan. Omelletes turn out brilliantly, and Yorkshire Pud but Pancakes - catastrophe!!!

Get a better pan. Seriously, a good, non-stick pan with a thick bottom will make a huge difference to the quality of the pancakes. Other than that, I find that if I put a bit of (melted and cooled) butter into the dough the pancakes will not stick. If I'm doing crepes (i.e., no butter), I use a tiny bit of cooking fat for each - I'll let it melt in the pan, then wipe the pan with a paper towel. (Scrunched into a small ball, so that I don't burn myself.)

  • I like making pancakes, its one of the few occasions you get to throw food in the air and see if it lands back in the pan and not on the ceiling/your head or the dogimage I dont eat them (too fattening) but hubby burns calories up, so I make chicken and avocado or just plain with sugar and lemon. Yogurt and fruit sounds nice and healthy GWRS!

Dont put too much batter in biofreak and they will  turn out thinner and nicerimage
