Bit too much talk of food on here at the moment - I'm very hungry & it's doing me no good at all - might have to raid the cake tin soon.
Lovely pics again Fairy - looks to be a beautiful day up there - getting 'homesick' for some hills
OH and I have been out buying sofas today - might have to go and stand on the street corner for a few nights to earn the balance due on them in a few weeks time. Hope it warms up soon
We don't do Valentine's Day either except one year OH did buy me a £1.50 ice cube tray from Ikea.
The ice cubes were little hearts and a little reminder of him every time I make a G&T. Perfect gift, perfect example of the thought (not the cost) that counts - makes me smile every time I use it
Chicken liver risotto here tonight. I'm sure that will make some of you - but it's a favourite with us. Must go and pick some parsley before it gets dark....
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down
We have had sun, snow, sun and now bitterly cold ..but thankfully no liver Seafood starter now eaten with some fizz and steak later We didn't buy pressies as we thought we'd use the money to put the heating on for an hour later.
Joking just my Yorkshire humour I have a big bag of Geezers to attack later
Lovely views of Glen Fruin FG, it was one of our holiday resorts when I was a wean. We used to paddle in Fruin Water then re-enact the Battle of Glen Fruin. Later on I used to cycle over it to go fishing in Loch Long, returning with fish hanging from the handlebars. Then there were the nights I had to walk over it after missing the last train home from Helensburgh having spent too long in the pub!
steephill - I put a few more pix on David's camera thread. It's an area I haven't walked before - ideal for this time of year though. Thoroughly enjoyed my day - glad it gave you a few nice memories too...although I wouldn't have fancied the late night trips from Helensburgh
I found a nice pic of The Cobbler when I was sorting all my photos - it reminded me of you and the pix you posted
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Had a wonderful day gardening. Felt good to be out there at last. Lots of things emerging which made weeding a quite exciting experience (I don't get out much).
seeds sown too .....they have been going about 3 hours now, but when I checked 5 minutes ago there was no sign of germination yet. Thanks for the cephalaria warning Hosta, I will treat them with caution. Saw them at a yellow book garden last summer and fell in love - like scabious on speed

Got myself some veggie/carroty soup and a couple of ends of a seeded loaf (toasted) Dove....but I'll make room for some bacon joint later thanks!

OH has just informed me it's snowing outside
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
I did see a forecast which said snow showers down your way Dove - thought it was for tomorrow, but knowing my brain...
Have you got thermal kecks?
It was a cracking day T'bird - very cold wind but alpine overhead
Ice cubes are a lovely idea
