I'm currently sitting inside with the air con going and trying to sort out some seeds. I collected pods from the Calendula and boy are they tricky to separate. I'm not sure whether it'll be worth the effort. But, I need to do something inside since its stinking hot and humid out there.
I can't imagine what kind of shop that was! Of course we have better taste. Besides it would come wrapped in butchers paper, not newspaper with ink all over it! Perhaps his accent confused the shop assistant. We had friends who visited Glasgow and tried to get fish and chips from a street vendor and they couldn't understand what was being said to them. So it was apparently a comedy trying to get served.
Another overnight frost but the temperature is already up to 3C this morning.
Topbird - yes, a definite green tinge to the hedgerows, as well as flowers at their feet
I'll be going up to the farm shop in a bit - they're holding a tasting of a new variety of potato http://missblushpotatoes.blogspot.co.uk/ . I've lent them a saucepan to cook them in so it's only right that I should go and have a taste. They sound interesting.

I was born in a small fishing village in NSW called Ulladulla. If you check on line Ric Stein has a restaurant there that called Bannisters.
