I can't wait, either, and especially pleased that Monty & Co. will not be replaced.  He tweeted on 24 January:

"GW returns to your screens on Friday March 4th. BBC 2 . 8.30pm."

I just think it's really mean of the BBC to take all gardening shows off air for winter, because that's when you need them most, to take your mind off the darkness and dampness and cold!

  • I agree with you Aster2 - I really enjoy watching gardening programmes in the winter - the inspiration helps me to plan for the coming new growing season and also realize that spring is just around the corner.  I feel that for one of Britains top hobbies and occupations gardening is not given a fair viewing on the television compared to cooking or sport

Very true! I suppose they want us all in garden centres, spending money, rather than in front of the TV watching gardening programmes! It's a giant conspiracy, I'm sure. image

I too am very excited and i agree Monty has a very good aura, just listening to him makes me feel happy and relaxed ( excellent work when my natural state is anxious and on edge!)

Let's hope they read these comments, and give us some new subjects to get our teeth into. I know new gardeners have to learn, but there is a limit to how many times I can watch other people's gardens, and learn how to prune again!

  • Looking forward to viewing the Gardening programme with Monty this evening - I am sure it will give us all inspiration.

I see that one of the "small spaces" in the first episode is an overgrown allotment! I'm really looking forward to watching this.
