I actually don't find it any quicker with the part 2 threads than the original ones. I would also like to have gone back to the end of the threads rather than the begining. Maybe Nora could put originally started by..........

Just what I said on another thread.

but we do have to have 'improvements' All sites do it, nothing stays the same.

when a site is locked, can we still quote something from that thread?

  • As intimated earlier, I'm not fussed either way.....but Nora did say something about  'it should improve your page loading time'.

Will we now be looking for 'how to grow sweet peas' by Nora.

What will happen when Marion's thread is full?

Theres no difference in loading time on the iPad.

  • There's no abuse ....... there have been questions and suggestions.

This is a time when things are changing on the forum ... the GW team are working on an upgrade and this is bound to mean some changes ... in the past we have requested improvements in posting pictures and making it more user friendly so that people using phones and tablets can access the board more easily - now these are happening.  There have also been technical problems and  the changes will make them quicker and easier to fix.

It is quite usual on forums for threads to be terminated once they reach a certain length and a new thread started.   It used to happen back on the  BBC message-boards (for those of you who remember that far back image)  and it happens on the Foodie Forum I'm a member of.

Some have ideas about how this could be done better and I'm sure that's fine and Nora will look into it and respond when she's in the office and has time to do so.

Verdun image  I hope I've not implied that you've raised the point due to arrogance - that wasn't my intention imageimage - I was simply pointing out my own personal viewpoint re the Hello Forkers thread etc.  If it came over as a criticism then I apologise image

Hortico: welcome to the forum. if you don't like a post  - ignore it. If enough people feel the same as you, it will slip to the bottom of th page and fade away.

If what interests you is not under discussion, start a new thread.  I'm sure that adding another perspective to the mix will be of interest to many of us.

Also, at this time of year, many of us are frustrated because we can't go out to play and nothing much is happening in the garden. In a few weeks you will find the forum to be more ' on message.'

We definitely are showing no abuse to Nora, but the different people interpret abuse in different ways. I could tell you about abuse!

Anyway, back on track..I still can't see how ' my perfumed Bristol garden' , by Nora is going to work. As I said before, we purposely look for David's sweet pea thread, I think it needs to have his name on it.
