As someone who doesn't listen to the Archers but knows of the storyline, please support this cause and also support anyone who you think might be in this position.
I also heard the latest on the evening news, and, as someone who has stood with the knife in her hand, I know how it feels when you can't take any more and you're seconds away from making the biggest mistake of your life. That's when I knew I had to get out and I did.
I was lucky - not everyone is.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

So sorry that you had to go through such an awful ordeal Fairygirl. I too know what it is like to live through such an abusive relationship - luckily the relationship ended but not before I had lost touch with most of my friends through his controlling nature. Luckily my family enveloped me in their love and helped me to move on.
I don't follow TA, but the shocking fact is that an average of two women a week are killed by their partners / ex-partners in the UK, plus there are others who felt they had no escape but to kill themselves.
Refuge do a great job, there are also other locally-based charities and refuges that work tirelessly and many have lost *a lot* of their funding in recent local authority cuts, so do consider them too, if you are able.

The 6 o'clock news has just spoiled it for me. I haven't caught up with yesterday's omnibus yet!
