Nice one Verd. I'm considering Ruby Wedding, Venice or Claret - slightly redder so that the flowers will stand out more against the shrubs behind - and my clematis Etoile Violette. The dark sweet peas didn't show up well enough against it, so some more reddish purples and whites might be better. I'll go to the nursery one day this week while I'm off - they have all of those three.

I laid the lap top upside down (sort of) and saw pic right way up. . . if you know what I mean. . . .
I assume it is hardy as I wouldn't normally buy something half-hardy...I have it in an east facing position in heavy soil.
I've got some seedlings coming along so I can try it elsewhere in the garden, climbs a trellis really well, I only have to help with a few fronds
