I like clashing, but my garden is designed to be restful, so strong colours offset with lots of green, white and purple. I'll have a 'loud' border along the back of the 'stension, and I can put the bench there and sit with my back to it
The Duchess (of Edinburgh) has a couple of flowers - loads of buds to come too
Philadelphus starting to open. I have two of these and they were meant to be Belle Etoile but I reckon they're Manteau d'Hermine. Definitely not BE. Purple foliage of Ligularia beside it
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Such fabulousness Loving Yvies clem and urn, wonky's border (wish I had a brick wall), everyone's lupins, hedgehogs and bees and flowerlovers amazing planting
Here's my offering for today, foxgloves starting up on the sunny side, prims in the boglands and alliums and camassia in the shade border in the background.
Victoria Sponge, that's what my garden looks like in my head... ? Beautiful! Is the big pot in the border permanently (or for its summer vacation?) We inherited a nice big pot with the house but i'm terrible with containers...
Aw, thanks Julie I've got my back to the cr*p in the photo above
The pot is on vacation, with a dahlia in for summer. It's sat on a slice of tree trunk I acquired, and not level I notice. I should probably wade in and straighten it but it seems like a bit of a faff?
If it flowers...it didn't last year when it was new but the tuber is much bigger now so hopefully it will... It's a half bred dahlia with cosmos, Mexican black

No idea LP it's one of the few plants in the garden that were here when I moved in.
Smashing Yvie. Very restful

I love this thread
Love your foxgloves Jimmy
Wonky, I can't believe that is the same garden you were showing us last year - it has blossomed (literally
).
Your garden is gorgeous Yvie - brings a huge smile to my face - and that clematis is spectacular. And Fairy, evocative as ever
You should all be very proud, and thank you so much for sharing

Ha ha, i use the same photo trick ?
The pot looks great now and it will be even better when the dahlia is in flower. I need to find a spot for mine... (adding to the to-do list)

What thread am I on? Have I slipped into the parallel universe that is GoS? Everybody shows the pics of the posh end?
I would love my big bed to look like that VS but then I accidently buy an orange thing.
...or two...
