Lovely photos. Your garden looks in great nick Papi Jo - you would never know you'd been short of the wet stuff!
I'll add my support for you Celadonsusan - I think I've already replied to some of your posts. Great to see the rewards for all the hard work isn't it?
We had another lovely moon last night and I got some better pix - or rather, I tinkered with them a bit more.
Altered the highlights on this one
This is how it really looked
Camera never lies does it?
Always forget about this clematis as it was here when I moved in - tiny little thing encased in the 'teabag' and drowning in a clay puddle in a lousy spot. I put it outside the boundary fence, where I park the car and then forgot about it. I intend moving it back into the garden as it's improved dramatically and is a much better colour now. Nice purply anthers on it
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
These are not strictly garden pictures, but it's what I see from the front windows.
Would anyone like some help keeping the grass under control?
A pair fronting up for a boxing match. I notice the girls aren't even remotely interested in the boys showing off. Does that ring any bells with anyone else?
Joyce! Why are you awake at 4.11? And yes, you're righ, they are always interesting. There are also a couple of large hares which hang around and, boy, are they fast. I notice one of the wallabies has a large pouch again. It doesnt seem that long since she had a baby and we watched it getting more and more independent.
We went for a drive out the back area this afternoon to see if there were any trees down from our strong winds - we have to keep an eye out for fenced being damaged.
Heres a photo looking from half way to the back fence and looking forward to the hills across the valley.
This one is my beds of onions. Garlic, leeks and Broccolini.the tubs have strawberries. And of course, my shadow, HRH. The green mesh is to try to stop the dreaded Choughs from digging them up. You can see how they have dug the eucalyptus mulch back from the edges. These birds arrive in a group if about 15-20 and eat and dig everything. No bulb is safe when they arrive.
A couple more flowers on Niobe - still quite few buds appearing. It's flowered it's head off this year. Little bit of verbena bonariensis on the other side of the 'window'
Phormium 'blackadder' with Cupani sweet peas doing their thing beyond it
