Yvie - it was sheer good fortune that it was so dry. It would have been awful otherwise.
Your plants are all looking terrific. Nelly in particular. It often looks so wishy washy but that's maybe because people plant it in too sunny a site
I might get some red geums for the new border - it's going to have gaudy, bright clashing colours - in theory
You wouldn't have said all the ladies are looking fabulous if you'd seen me dandling my weary feet in the river on the way home yesterday...I'll spare everyone the photo...maybe....

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Gorgeous blooms Yvie. And loving that lawn LF. Fairy - are you sure you had buildersin, and didn't just dream it? Its all looking immaculate from that angle
Here are some from Chez Chicky this morning
Iris Mer de Sud .....my favourite
Hosta June, with an artfully arranged fern frond
My standard Wisteria again, but this time with a rhodie neighbour (MrCneeds to cut the grass - it looks like LF's, but not so artful)
Gorgeous chicky. The wisteria is looking very healthy and happy. You could get some sheep in and save on grass cutting
That hosta is gorgeous too - and virtually no nibbles! I must get some alliums for this time of year. I have some things to remove form that border as they were stuck in to fill gaps. There's always a bit of a lull at this time of year - between spring bulbs going over, and summer stuff flowering.
Honest guv - they wuz here! I haven't shown anyone here the mess I still have to sort down the side of the extension....

The honeysuckle is Graham Thomas. I have just had a walk around the garden, The smell is gorgeous.
The wisteria is a rooted layer from my original one. Wisteria floribunda macrobotrys. It has tassels up to two feet long. The one on the pergola with the honeysuckle didn't get pruned last year. It has lots of flowers. The original one that is grafted and was carefully pruned has two flowers, except for the bit which escaped into the beech hedge, wasn't pruned , and you guessed it, flowered.

Didn't you have a gorgeous dark purple iris once Fairy ....did those builders tread on it ???

(apols, not stalking you ...a photographic memory has its downsides
)
I had several chicky, but I split them all and they've been languishing in pots awaiting a proper bed for them....
Hopefully they'll go in the bit at the back of the 'stension where they'll get the most sun
Been out to take a couple of pix of Niobe as she's flowering now, and there's a few little flowers on the Libertia just in front of it.
Niobe from the other side of the screen with the late evening sun on her
Wider shot - Chrysographes Irises are ready to open too
