I don't dislike any colours in the garden that I can think of but I found some reasonably priced plants and bought them...like you do. Turns out one of them is a blue salvia. Blue as a blue thing. Where'm I going to put that?
You have something there, Verdun, that plant associations are key. I have embraced my Rhododendrons by virtue of the fact they meld into my Japanese inspired look. I also never really chose orange until an orange Geum won my heart and transformed a lime and peachy coloured corner into a fizzy, zingy and warm section of my garden.
Don't like blue either PP. Not that colour of blue anyway.
Blue's too cold a colour for our climate up here. I think that's something else people often forget. Predominantly grey skies need warmer colouring to work well with them. That's why purply/red blues work better than cold blues.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Sorry Verd - I know they grow well up here, but...you know what I'm going to say, don't you?
We get loads of light here in summer, but not the amount of sun and warmth that more southerly areas get. Right plant, right place has another meaning....

Take some cuttings PP - ah, just remembered i tried that and they didn't work either, hmmm. Beautiful though. Just tried to take cuttings from Tatton purchase (penstemon) but hey presto! no only two stems and both flowering ( yes, I should choose more carefully especially as I had a rip off voice shouting at the back of my head!)... live n never learn.

Love all colours with lots of foliage from shrubs, ferns and grasses among them.
It's patio blue.
I'll probably shove it in the big mixed bed and hope for the best. Tallest to the back now please!!!

Tender? You mean I'll go to the trouble of digging a hole and it'll die anyway!
