Hey Joyce - I had no idea that they grew so far north - I am totally surprised! Do they take them indoors in the winter or they must surely be covered - I always assumed that they were too delicate for cooler climates.
GD, No. There are lots of other tender plants in the garden A) it's sheltered and the Gulf Stream makes a huge difference. You would enjoy spending a day there
Joyce, I've been to Stanraer. An amazing subtropical garden made even more amazing by being at the latitude of Hudson's Bay. The gulf stream does wonderful things in western Scotland. My favorite gulf stream garden is Garinish Island in Bantry Bay in S. Ireland.
Lovely blossom Davids. Is that a non-invasive variegated grass? Being one and a half hours north of Stranraer, on the coast, we seldom get extreme winters.
