imageThat's a thought, the magpies also come down for food.

It looks like the bird has dipped its head in a tin of paint.

Don't take any notice of the washing, I don't.image

  • Hello everyone, I am new to this forum. Really excited to have found it. The photographs of your gardens are really inspiring, and I can see the forum pages are going to be so helpful. Have pottered in my garden in Guernsey for years but have really got the 'gardening bug' this year!

    Welcome Tabithaimage

    In London. Keen but lazy.
  • Thank-you B3 and Runnybeak

This is only photograph I have at the moment - this is William enjoying the catmint growing in my greenhouse! image

Welcome Tabitha - hope you find lots of help, as well as a few laughs, here on the forum. This thread is always wonderful - especially on a wet, miserable day!

We have another regular poster from Guernsey too  image

He does look like a cross between several birds Joybell...image

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

  • Hi Tabitharose, - a fellow Guern - aren't we lucky to live on such a beautiful island even when it is shrouded in fog! Welcome to this brilliant forum.  I love the pussy cat - are all ginger cats male?

    Welcome Tabitharoseimage

1Runnybeak1  have no idea what's going on.

Fairygirl yes some sort of bird cross.

Then the hedgehog house gets dragged across the flower border and onto the path. No way it's a cat, but maybe a fox or badger after the food.

You'll need to get a camera to see what your trespasser is Joybell! image

Does the bird get bullied and ostracised by the other birds? That seems to be a common occurrence with birds that look different. image

    Welcome Tabithaimage.

What a beautiful garden you have Beaus and what a lot of work you've put into itimage.  I especially like your big water bowl for Beau in the gravel bedimage.

Wonky you have worked wonders there,  Green fingers obviously run in your familyimage.

Joybell I don't think your bird is a cross.  It's a genetic condition called leucistic and is apparently quite common in blackbirdsimage.  I just looked it upimage.

Shame about the magpie Rb but you're right, it's out of it's misery now.
