looks great gardeningfanticimage, its raining here again June and July have been a total washout this year image. At least some of the plants are enjoying the rain, ligularia looks great this year but for the wind battering it about.

Looks pretty good from here Gardenfantic   image

Lovely mix of planting you have. Good for the soul isn't it? We're always a bit further behind up here, but things are starting to shift now. I can send you some of our rain if you like...image

My Ligularia has some buds forming Perki. I always look forward to it's big orangey daisies. They're great plants. Mine is fairly sheltered from the wind. It's in a pot until it goes into it's new location  image

Thank you pp. Not sure why your post didn't appear but glad you updated us!

That's interesting re the colours ...are you saying I'm a suffragette?.....image

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

imageGlad you posted your lovely Etoile Violette, Fairygirl. Now I'm even more convinced that that is what my dark purple clematis is. A friend gave me the cutting a few years ago and she said it wasn't EV but she didn't know what it was. But now I've seen it labelled in English open gardens so I'm sure it is.

Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

Certainly looks very like it BL. Even allowing for the difference in our climates etc, mine have always flowered from late June here and go on forever, so if you find yours is the same, then it would seem a likely candidate.

    It's lovely anyway! image
