Sorry, not our garden but one we visited today. Can anyone name the lovely little yellow flower & also which clematis is this? The Wisteria had a fantastic trunk - the building had the date 1690 on it but I don't think the Wisteria was quite that old - do you? Any ideas of a name for the lovely little blue flowers, the leaves looked similar to bluebell leaves?

Is the yellow flower a type of poppy? (with a very long tap root...)

Thanks for the nice, encouraging comments! Virtual tours can be organised but i'm afraid you'll have to sort out your own refreshments ?

That looks very inviting and well organised Julie - what time do you open? Yes, I think you could be right regarding the yellow flower - it was perfect and so free flowering. I must look for a packet of the seeds at the G.C.

Welsh poppy GD. They seed around. Meconopsis cambrica. The blue one is an allium - don't know which one I'm afraid.

    I can't see a clematis....image

That wisteria is so architectural isn't it?

Lovely pot of sempervivums Julie  image

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

I think the blue flower is a dwarf allium, Guernsey.

A trowel in the hand is worth a thousand lost under a bush.

Thanks for the feedback - I think the Welsh poppy will be on my list of seeds for 2017. Here is the clematis - there was a huge variety of them - no space was left bare in borders or on walls. We thought the chimneys wereimage pretty interesting too - sorry not a good picture of the clematis, but it was huge & covered with flowers.

The blue flower is a Scilla Peruviana, I have one. But the leaves are rather floppy, lovely flower though.

Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

Thanks for all the names - it was an interesting garden - we try to visit all that are open during the season - but missed the first which was overlooking one of the picturesque beaches overlooking the sea - friends said it was beautiful - watch this space....
