    imageOnly just found this thread so thought I'd share what I'm chuffed with so far this year ...  I planted the aubretia under the french windows last year - this year it knitted together to form a seemingly (at this point) everlasting spot of colour.  And no weeds!  Love it.

    image A damp drizzly day, but for me this greenery is as good as it gets.

    ps with the exception of the two Alders I have planted every tree that you can see.

     chicky, sadly I can't remember! - I wish I could image  It was one of the first things I planted last year when we moved in and in the 'just moved in' chaos I lost the packet. They were from Homebase though, I imagine they would have the same ones in again later this year.

    Quick spot of googling and  think that gorgeous tulip is 'La Belle Epoque'. It's new but quite a few suppliers stock it: cheapest are Sutton's and Peter Nyssen, less than half the price of Crocus and Waitrose who want £1 per bulbimage

     Oh, well done! I can't remember how much I paid for them, but I'm sure it wasn't the cheapest. I was seduced, though!
