Around the garden today. Thought I would rather take pictures, than get on with the jobs I am supposed to be doing.

Last week I decided to dig up my roses. They hate me and I'm not their biggest fan.

    Then these happened.

They smell delicious. Maybe I'll just dig up the others!

I think those roses deserve a reprieve, PP.  Scented plants are special!

Your garden looks absolutely beautiful, Lizzie.  image

A few pretty things in mine, though it's way behind those who live in the sunny south:

    This lilac smells gorgeous.

Colour contrasts are a bit extreme... the Jacob's Ladder just seeded itself into the middle of the Philadelphus though, and it makes me smile.

That's Pieris 'Katsura'.  It doesn't flower for me but I can forgive it with new growth that colour.  image

What a lot of gorgeousness! Love that purple allium against the Philadelphus and the way the pale pink lilac shows up against the dark background. RB's rose is a beautiful shape.

I've only seen Amsonia once, at Waterperry Gardens. Been wanting to buy it ever since, but never seen it for sale.

Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

Gorgeous pix doc. Quite right enjoying the fruits of your labours - rather than just doing the labouring image

Lovely pix too Liri. The lilac is a great photo. Love the allium against the golden foliage. image

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

It's a variety I've wanted for years and bought them a couple of years ago. There's actually two different ones but they're very similar, and they are very velvety. image

The 'raindrops' are actually water form the cat scarer...which I activated when taking the pic...image

    Loving my lupins.

Poor Giuseppe doing his best under difficult circumstances. He was one of my "dead" treasures last year and he was shoved in any old where. He's rewarding me with loads of tiny little blooms. I feel guilty now. image
