I heed the warning about planting too early, but the begonias take so long to germinate, then flower, wanted to get them going asap. They can live in the greenhouse/coldframe once they are big enough, and I have all my flowers in baskets/pots as I have a small garden, so not a problem with transplanting them But can't wait till Feb when I can get everything else going!
Cottagegardener - I noticed you asked about thyme seeds germinating. In my experience (which isn't huge, but has happened a few times) they are OK as long as 1) they are very well drained, and 2) you plant quite thickly, because those that do come up are tiny at first and get eaten by things. They seem to be quite resistant to rot though, not sure why, so a thicker sowing seems OK.
Growing pelargoniums from seed for the first time. They're up already. Perhaps a bit early but I want to get them nice and big as the plugs I purchased last year were really poor.
Chris. Checked out White Habanero on Seed Parade and they are indeed different. Yours look like a typical Habanero whilst the picture on my packet definately look jelly bean shaped. Will compare. Thanks for mentioning Seed Parade. Good site and not expensive.
You got quite a collection of seeds their Lyn, I can see the bunny grass I sent you . I need to order some more petunia seeds, I have took a liking to veined mirage petunias.
Ordered some more seeds today New guinea impatiens - agastache apricot sprite not grown either before, and some antirrhinium bronze dragon.

I am hoping to grow some Cape Gooseberry and outside cucumbers for the first time
So if anybody has any tips ?
Best of luck to you all
Mel, my Habanero White seeds look to be a different type to yours. I got mine from Seed Parade, so we can compare notes as the season progresses.

My Petunia seeds arrived today, very quick delivery.
I will sow those on the 1st March. They germinate very quickly.
Also got some more Lobelia, White, you can't have too much lobelia.

Lyn, my friend sent me a fresh batch of Ricinus seeds from Crete. Would you like some?
