Wendy, I love your wild mixture. What is your secret? Mine failed miserably again this year.  I thought it would be nice to have a row of wildflower with poppies etc, Didn't happen. Love the zinnias and rhudbeckia,    lyn, colours great and David how lovely natural surroundings are to make display. Cant beat wood!

Last year, I bought a packet of wild flower seeds and started them off in a seed tray in the Spring, when they germinated, I waited until I could see what they were, or at least which ones were the same, and pricked out in their own groups.

this way I could see what was what and put them out accordingly, There is no point in me scattering seeds here, I never see them again.

I had some lovely plants there, poppies, teasels, which flowered this year, white daisies, some lovely yellow things, tiny little toadflax, which would have been lost by scattering.but by starting off in trays, you can put them in groups as suitable, then you wont have tall ones swamping little ones.

Gardening on the wild, windy west side of Dartmoor.

Some of my stars, especially the brugmansia with $ open flowers and lots of buds to follow.

A single tiny plant from a forum friend turned into a huge beautiful cosmos, still going strong

    Happy with the red border.

Wow image Had you cut back all the foliage? I always cut it all back to make room for the summer plants, maybe I should leave a bit next year image
