I know BM, everyone else was posting pics of theirs and mine was doing nothing, I didn't think it was going to flower so am very pleased, that's why I said better late than never.
It's the first time I've grown Lavatera (I think - I don't know if my other plants from last year are Lavatera or Hollyhock....they look the same!!). I will be keeping these next year though as I love the colour but may pull up the paler varieties as I have lots of white already and pale pink doesn't look much different. Love this bright pink though
My mum OL only lives 15 miles away but the flowers we have the same hers are always 2 weeks ahead of mine ie forget me nots in spring, love in a mist now in summer, well strange Where are you situated? I'm in chesham, south bucks
Hope you have some friends or neighbours to re home the ones you pull up Or a plant swap club would be good
My best bright pink right new is a geum, really stunning, was trying to get a pic today but kept getting distracted! I'll try again tomorrow
Apparently they don't like being moved BM, but I'm sure my sister or mum would give them a good home If they did survive. They are an annual I think but self seed.....have I remembered that right??
Ooh, BM, bright pink Geum?? I have a totally tangerine (orange), mrs bradshaw (red) I got as plugs this year and just ordered some more plugs that are yellow. I am planning on grouping the 3 together next year in patches....don't think pink would go but I do love pink Geums are my new find this year thanks to Verdun and I love them
I forgot to say BM, I'm a Northerner, near Blackpool I used to work for a company based in High Wycombe and used to go to Amersham, a beautiful part of the country.
Oh no, believe me it's not, I don't go into Blackpool if I can help it. I'd rather go shopping to Manchester than Blackpool! I think we might have had a Christmas party in a hotel in Chesham???
I have never been to either Manchester or Blackpool I have only been up north sadly three times which were fantastic wild weekends in Yorkshire, Middlesbrough and Liverpool when I was younger and single It's really true at how welcoming Northeners are
Think I only know one hotel here, sort of like a country house? We have only lived here seven years

I have two today and at last I have colour in my new border.
My Iris.....better late than never
I have some pink, at last, my Lavatera has flowered
I can't believe your iris just flowered, mine came and went weeks ago! They are so lovely, I think mine was the same as yours
The pink lavatera is such a lovely pink, does yours grow big?

Amersham is next town to us! Small world
Might be beautiful part of country but Blackpool sounds more exciting
