THANK YOU Verdun,What a Good idea ,Your thread has been very intresting and also useful to me .At the moment my borders look pretty boring to the eye, so much has been cut down after flowering to make good root systems for next years border. So looking through all these beautiful photo's and checking the date I can be sure I have something of intrest at all times.
THANK YOU ALL TOO . FOR LETTING ME PICK YOUR BRAINS !

Lovely 'ice creams' there
This is the star of my front garden, I love begonias
They look like peaches'n dreams. from T &M
They will flower first year from an early sowing. I think they now do a pink sort as well
Have just finally found it on an American Homes & Gardens site they say it is :-
'Peaches 'n Dreams' hollyhock Alcea rosea 'Peaches 'n Dreams' has ruffled, double peachy-pink blooms with overtones of raspberry and apricot. It grows 4-6 feet tall. Zones 3-8 The website link is http://www.bhg.com/gardening/plant-dictionary/perennial/hollyhock/
They got the height wrong - mine are at 9ft...!!
Nicotiana affinis is my star tonite, the scent. Nothing ti look at though
In the sticks near Peterborough
Today the star is this little fella in my GH. Not great at butterflies but after a moment's googling I'd say it's a Speckled Wood.
