Love the wild swan backside chicky! I bought a small one a few weeks ago and I hope where I've put it, it will flower to the side so I can see the lilac. Not that it has any flowers...
Lyn, superb hydrangeas
I can't really claim credit for my star as it was already in bud when it arrived however it is in my garden!
It's weird - I don't like bi-coloured flowers yet I love Auriculas. There's something rather perfect and old fashioned about them. The whole idea of the displays and having them all in the same pots etc. Formality I suppose, which I love in a garden
Are you building them a little theatre?
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Thank you! It did look rather cute glowing away when I opened the side door this morning...
I'm not building them a theatre, no, it's entirely beyond me! and as far as I know I bought suitable for the border types, all brown.
When I get around to it they're getting planted out with a blue pulmonaria; I envisioned them flowering at the same time. If they don't do well I'll pot them back up as doorstep plants...

I have put a vanilla fraise paniculata (sp)? in the ground, i hope he doesnt turn blue.
The white ones here turn a dirty grey with bluey/pink edges after a while.
Have you tried the rusty nail treatment. There was always a baby milk tin full of rusty nails in the shed even if you didnt have a baby.

My star right now has to be Guara lindheimeri 'The Bride' taller than expected, drawn up by nearby holly, no less lovely.
The Munch aster at its best Verdun
and have seen rudbekia used a lot in the various gardens I've seen over the past month. Stunning in swathes.
Lyn, your blue hydrangea is beautiful
mine is not such a deep blue but is still a star albeit fading now
it was pink until the pond was extended two years ago, a suprise to see pink and blue flowers last year, now all blue! Lovely.
is very deep mauve now that its fading, here it is before.
Sunflowers, nasturtiums and runner beans, all done exeptionally well this year, its been a fantastic growing year.
Good shrub for covering a fence or shed. It make this much growth every year, cut right down in Spring. Called Solanum.
