  • Viola cornuta - has just taken off in the past few weeks.  Only problem is I miss it in it's mid-day glory as I'm not at home, I get to see it in the early evening as the flowers are wrapping themselves up for the night.

     1. Unknown aster! Is about 6ft tall jet black stems, I got it at the national gardens in Wales but lost the label, doh!

    2. Calamagrostis grass, so beautiful in autumn light.

    3. Crinum powellii album, smells heavenly!

    4. White astrantia still flowering.

    5. Unknown canna, was meant to be 'black knight', foliage is right colour, but flower is orange not red! I still like it though!

     Sternbergia Lutea and Dahlia "Pooh".

I put these on the gardens thread, but as they are stars at the moment here they are again.

On page 63 Dove had a lovely wigwam of thunbergia but when I clicked on my laptop it stayed sideways. Does it only turn round if you have a tablet?

Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

No, still remain sideways on my tablet and turning the tablet turns the upsidedown!  image   Even clicking the pic doesnt work. Pity, such good photos.

  • Thanks artjak, it's a bit of a jungle! The other half wants to clear half of out, but I'm an unashamed plant collector!

Busy, that dahlia is stunning! I would like more of them, but no more room!

I love those little Sternbergias -  a little ray of sun on  a dull autumn day image

I like jungly Bamboogie. image Going to have a little hot spot here too with Cannas etc. Black Knight sounds good  - pity it's not the one you've got although it's still a great colour. I used to have Durban which has dark foliage and good rich orange flowers.

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
