  • That's a relief to know as I have one plant, which looks nothing like yours!

I'm just hoping we don't get an even longer winter than usual - like last year - and plants, and the sun, get a chance to shine when they're supposed to! image

The crocus are all poking their heads above ground and they always bring a smile, but it's when the daffs and narcissus come through that I feel spring has sprung.

Spirea arguta Bridal Wreath is my signal spring shrub with her fountain of white flowers. I've always loved it.

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
  • Hi Aster2, I remembered to dig out the quince label, it was Chaenomeles Crimson and Gold.  It's probably still available, if not then another plant that is just as good, but it's not a quick fix!  That photo was taken 30th March 2012.  I'd put another on if I could work out how to do it... One plant will grow to a good size if you're prepared to wait but for a hedge you need a row of them. Which you already know I'm sure!

Hey, I've worked out how to insert a pic so here's my front garden quince hedge     30th March 2012 after about 10 years of growth.  That was its very best year ever.

Many thanks, ExtremeGardener! They are very lovely! And I don't want them to grow to a good size at all, the smaller the better - I have no space.image

  • I think Burncoose is selling these in their 20% off sale although I don't know how the price compares with other suppliers.

    It looks fab ExtremeGardenerimage
