That's true and I've grown species roses from seed, but what's the betting they are actually roses at all? Lots of cheaper seeds they might be, that are easier to collect!
There are a fair few sellers that claim to be in the uk too! I do wonder how many poor people fall for these. A friend mistakingly bought some 'foxglove' seeds from china (she thought they were a uk seller), she doesn't know what plant there were but they were not foxgloves.
There are also have blue and black strawberries in hong kong as well as seed available for plants thet will not grow true to type.
By the time any seed get to flower/fruit, it will be too late for ebay/paypal to give a refund.
That's free enterprise for you! I get just as cross, maybe even more so, with some of the big name companies in the uk that fleece their customers too. Their photos are enhanced, no idea of scale or age of plant shown, over-hyped and overpriced. I'm sure I don't need to name names! Those of us with enough experience of real plants and real nurseries can usually get the same thing, or even better, for less outlay, or we know that the claims are ridiculous, but they prey on the ignorance of those new to gardening, who just want to make their little plot look nice.

I'm always amazed at the colour of Blue Moon rose in catalogues where they're always blue , but in reality they're a hideous muddy lilac.
Known here as Rosa 'Mucky Mauve' Hostafan
In the sticks near Peterborough

I am always amazed by he pictures of black baccara roses, they never look red.
