    J Parker

Disgusted with plant. Cost £10 with postage. Obviously a cutting that had not rooted properly.

Had I been a month earlier I could have bought flowering good sized plant from local nursery for same price.

Friendly customer service. I don't think so. Was told to plant and it would be perfectly alright.

    Really didn't want to know.

8 months on it is still pathetic and has two leaves what a bonus.

My own cuttings taken last Autumn are flourishing.

I shall now complain again and see what happens.

People regularly complain about Parkers on here Bee. Poor plants and poorer customer service are the usual reasons.

If you want specific, good plants, you're usually better buying from a reputable nursery. It may be more expensive, but there's a good reason for that. Otherwise, you pays your money and you takes your chances, as they say.

I haven't ordered through them for ages, but never had a problem with them. Nowadays, with email ordering, it's almost impossible for the suppliers to make excuses or mistakes. I say avoid phoning orders through now.

I was disappointed with RHS ordering, not sure if they're now owned by Crocus or not, but they did an offer of 3 for 1 offer and no matter what I did, one plant died. It's almost like they picked the last one from a batch that had already had bad nurturing.

I learned the hard way that Parkers are dreadful. I did order bare root cornus plants they did well  but the free gift begonias  were like rocks . I don't really like begonias anyway.

I have found RHS pretty good so far. Shrubs are very well packed and I have had  have to fight to get them out of their packaging,  lots of cardboard and parcel tape.  Same with my new clematis from Taylors. The top  bud was bent it might have been my fault  but the whole plant was very carefully trussed up when it was packed.

'You must have some bread with it me duck!'

  • Always had good service from this company have supplied bulbs and plants to both my husband and I for over 12 years odd hickup but they have always rectified with a replacement ????

  • I placed a substantial order with Jparkers - wish I'd checked various review sites before doing so! I just trusted all would be ok as they're recommended by GW.

What arrived was a mix of damaged, slug eaten, and dry unhealthy roots.

When placing the order the lady on the phone was very helpful, however when phoning up to say what had arrived, before I'd even had chance to explain, the first thing the lady said to me was: 'I have to tell you firstly that you will have to pay for any returns' In my case this was £6.00 so with the £3.99 delivery it cost me £10 on postage.  She then went on to be very unhelpful and quite rude, I'm actually not one to complain, so I ended the call quickly.

Very disappointed, be wary of what you order and read the pages carefully for what you'll actually receive. For what you actually receive it's very overpriced.

  • Over the years I have ordered 3 times from Parkers and have never been happy with the results. Late deliveries, poor communications while waiting and the quality of the bulbs have been mixed to say the least. The last purchase was snow drops a couple of years ago and every single bulb rotted and never showed. Some people on here recommended buying them in the Green and I had much better results.
  • I must admit I haven't been happy with anything sent through the post,I'd much rather go and look at stuff in the garden centre or nursery,at least you know what you're getting, and can pick good plants.
The whole truth is an instrument that can only be played by an expert.
  • I placed a small order with JParkers and what I received was abysmal.
I have so far received half of my order which consists of 12 freshia bulbs (not bad looking), my free bulbs also in good condition and some dried up roots stuffed in 6 plugs which was supposed to be delphiniums!
Honestly absolutely NO leaves or stems of any description, which is worrying as there are a fair amount of dries up roots in the plug (which suggest that they had been alive and healthy at some point), however they had all died back.
When I phoned the customer service agents to explain my complaint, the man literally said that he couldn't believe what I was telling me and then went on to say that he doesn't believe me! So he called me a liar and then refused to help.
Do yourself a favour and steer clear of this excuse for a gardening retailer. In fact I would go so far as to say I would sooner pave over my garden than use JParkers again.
